Build an A/P template for split or recurring invoices
Create a reusable template that splits an invoice across several accounts or funds by percentage.
Create a reusable template that splits an invoice across several accounts or funds by percentage — perfect for bills you divide the same way every time (e.g., a utility split across departments).
Where: Accounts Payable → A/P Templates (Edit Templates)
Steps
1. Open A/P Templates and create a new template.

> Screenshot: Template line-item entry with distribution percentages. (source: image57.jpg)
2. Enter line items just like a normal invoice, but think in distribution percentages. For example, a $100 bill split:
- 40% — $60.00 — Town/Village Hall
- 20% — $20.00 — Garage
- 20% — $20.00 — Highway Dept.
- (and so on, totaling 100%)
3. If a line's credit G/L isn't in the same fund as its debit G/L, change the credit G/L manually so they match.
4. Click the Close icon on the ribbon toolbar to save.
> Tip: You can revisit and change a template any time — go back to Edit Templates and click Edit.
→ Next step: Put it to work — Create an invoice from a template.
